68.      Identification of the Client

Question:

Who is the appraiser’s client?

Response:

The client is the party or parties who engage an appraiser (by employment or contract) in a specific assignment. It is engagement for an assignment, not payment for an assignment, that establishes the appraiser-client relationship.
